Subito dopo lo sbarco in Normandia, il soldato americano Kelly riesce a carpire ad un ufficiale tedesco la notizia che in una banca di Claremont sono custoditi 14mila lingotti d'oro pronti per essere trasferiti in Germania. Un argomento molto persuasivo per il sergente Big Joe, per il carrista Oddball ed il furiere Crapgame pronti a sfruttare i tre giorni di licenza appena avuti in questa caccia all'oro. La loro azione viene seguita per caso, via radio, dal generale Colt e alla fine della missione, agli avventurieri aspetta anche la decorazione.
